Now in its fifth year, the Toms River Food Fest will take place on Saturday, May 2 in Downtown Toms River and is the inaugural event of the town's 2015 festival season.
Featuring a variety of food vendors, the Food Fest will run from 11 am to 8 pm on Washington Street between Main Street and Hooper Avenue in front of Town Hall. Sponsored by the Township of Toms River, Downtown Toms River, and the Toms River-Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, this family-friendly event continues to grow each year and has something for everyone to enjoy.
Something for Everyone
Check out unique items available for sale by local crafters, including jewelry, gourmet sauces, paintings, clothing, and children's toys. Local businesses and organizations will be on hand providing information on what products they sell and services they offer. This also will give you an opportunity to find out what's available and going on in Toms River throughout the rest of the year.
Adults can grab a cold beer or leisurely sip a glass wine in the beer and wine garden. Parents and kids alike will appreciate the free children's rides, including slides, climbing wall, and bounce houses all conveniently located at one end of the festival.
Food and Entertainment
A seating area is provided in front of the library where you can enjoy your food and enjoy live music. Local bands are scheduled throughout the day, including an appearance by Shorty Long & the Jersey Horns at 11:30 am.Choose from food offerings from local restaurants and vendors, including seafood, gourmet specialty foods, BBQ, funnel cakes, and kettle corn. In previous years, there have been so many food items for attendees to enjoy. A good strategy is to do a walk-through to see what's available before starting your feast and pace yourself-but don't forget to leave room for dessert!
What You Need to Know if You're Going
Admission to the festival area is free, and restroom facilities will be available. The rain date for the Food Fest is Sunday, May 3. Visitors to the festival are encouraged to take advantage of the free parking available at downtown lots, including these locations:
